This morning I was woken up around 3am when my neighbor’s carpool dropped her off at home (I think she’s a nurse). I could hear them absolutely shrieking with laughter through my open bedroom window. For a second, I was annoyed at being woken up, but then a wave of gratitude washed over me that I don’t have a job where I’m required to pull late nights any more.
When I worked at a magazine full time, we often had to work very late nights on deadline and, to be frank, I suck at it. I am NOT a night owl, and I get… let’s just say I am less than gracious about the whole thing before the night is done. 😉
I’m grateful for the reminder that what I have now is so good. So it seemed like a good time for another edition of Gratitude Fridays.
I’m grateful for weekends when I get to spend more time with my husband and we get to do fun things as a family. This photo was taken on a hike we took a couple of weeks ago up to Lost Lake in the Indian Peaks National Wilderness.
I’m grateful for our new farmer’s market that is just a five-minute ride away by bike! And I’m grateful to Miller Farms who have a killer deal at the market—anything you can stuff in a bag for $10. I’m grateful for the ability to pay $4 a pound for local peaches, because although the penny-pincher in me balks at the price, there is nothing better on this planet than a tree-ripened local peach (IMHO).
I’m grateful that we seem to be past the worst of our latest teething bout. ‘Nuff said.
I’m grateful for the amazing opportunities that have been coming my way lately—grateful and humbled. Trying not to tell myself that I “don’t deserve it” but rather just say thank you, thank you, thank you.
What are you grateful for this week? Leave me a comment below with one thing you’re grateful for this week.
I am grateful for my family and that I get to live and work in the mountains of Colorado. The sunrise over Cal-Wood this morning was amazing. BTW hot hubby and cute kid you should be grateful. Hee Hee.
Nice comment FB plugin…you have to show me how to do this. I have a lot to learn from you my social media master. I say this doing a little prayer bow…
I totally am! Those are awesome things to be grateful for.
LOL. It's a lot of trial and error, but I'm happy to share what I know.
I’m grateful to have beautiful people in my life, a life I love living, meaningful work that makes me feel connected and good red wine. Oh, and potatoes.
Love it!
I’m grateful that I was so many things to be grateful for, I have to limit myself to the two things I already felt grateful for this morning: playing baseball with my 5-yr old in our own backyard for the very first time this morning; and getting to have dinner with Lacy Boggs tonight!! How lucky am I?!!? 😀
Pretty freaking lucky, clearly! 😀 Can’t WAIT to see you for dinner. I am really looking forward to a cocktail.
