Gratitude Fridays

Gratitude Fridays

This morning I was woken up around 3am when my neighbor’s carpool dropped her off at home (I think she’s a nurse). I could hear them absolutely shrieking with laughter through my open bedroom window.  For a second, I was annoyed at being woken up, but then a wave of gratitude washed over me that I don’t have a job where I’m required to pull late nights any more.

When I worked at a magazine full time, we often had to work very late nights on deadline and, to be frank, I suck at it. I am NOT a night owl, and I get… let’s just say I am less than gracious about the whole thing before the night is done. 😉

I’m grateful for the reminder that what I have now is so good.  So it seemed like a good time for another edition of Gratitude Fridays.

my family at Lost Lake

I’m grateful for weekends when I get to spend more time with my husband and we get to do fun things as a family.  This photo was taken on a hike we took a couple of weeks ago up to Lost Lake in the Indian Peaks National Wilderness.

I’m grateful for our new farmer’s market that is just a five-minute ride away by bike! And I’m grateful to Miller Farms who have a killer deal at the market—anything you can stuff in a bag for $10. I’m grateful for the ability to pay $4 a pound for local peaches, because although the penny-pincher in me balks at the price, there is nothing better on this planet than a tree-ripened local peach (IMHO).

I’m grateful that we seem to be past the worst of our latest teething bout.  ‘Nuff said.

I’m grateful for the amazing opportunities that have been coming my way lately—grateful and humbled. Trying not to tell myself that I “don’t deserve it” but rather just say thank you, thank you, thank you.
